Some say nothing will happen, others disagree and say that the world will end. Personally, I don't think the world will end but I do believe something will happen i.e. the sun will come down or something sun-related will occur such as the sun descending from the sky and for those who do not believe will be harmed. Of course, I could be wrong and nothing might happen.
Many claim that the Mayan calender is pretty accurate but one must question, how accurate is it? Will one negative era of this world end on December 21st 2012 and a more positive one begin? Let's hope so.

My opinion: On the 2012 event, I think there will be a massive polar shift due to the gravitational pulls between the sun and a super-massive black hole in the center of the Milky Way galaxy. A polar shift would cause the magnetosphere to flip and in some areas the sun's harmful UV rays would pierce the Earth and it's inhabitants.
Now there isn't exactly anything in the Bible that says what will happen on 2012 or even if such "2012" would occur but something I would think that if not a polar shift it would be the following: Revelation 6:12-13 :(6:12)"I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, (6:13)and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind." "the stars in the sky fell to Earth" of course meaning asteroid impact or meteors.

We are currently putting together a rather comprehensive paper on this topic to see if we can either verify or count it as lore. Interesting and the article will be out soon. I am sure it will be a interesting article and a surprise.

Yeah, I think something like a polar shift could happen too as scientists tell us that it's already happening but like I said before, something related to the sun will definitely happen. I have never felt more strongly about something and I think it will definitely happen. Then again, it might not happen in 2012 (and hopefully it won't) but it's going to happen at some stage. I also think that UFOs will also be mentioned more frequently in the next couple of years. Some people speculate that aliens will play more of a role in our society and I always scoffed at the notion (even though I do believe in other life froms) but lately, I've changed my mind. If you read the following article, it might change yours too: You are not allowed to view links. I can add this now without going into all the research , but in the universe as we know it certain happenings come around ever so often. ie. many say the global warming effect is due to one of these. So yes it is very possible change or changes are and will happen. As to the source --we will go more into that in our findings soon.

I think the main danger to earth will come from the sun. More likely a huge solar ejecta. Th sunspot cycleis about to ramp up big time.

Yes I totally agree base on your injection of the book of revelations that something will occur at some point that will cause "stars to fall". One thing I personally feel and I respect others beliefs. However I feel as based on Biblical text no man knows the date, time or hour. It is interesting to have all these events taking place. As there are many. We hover have to to extremely careful in our approach and make sure we stick to facts. Otherwise we further tarnish the reputation of this area of research as many do. If you watch those who make baseless claims and jump to rapid conclusion you will soon see of of two things and almost in every case. 1. They mean well but are not gifted or fail to follow proper research protocols. 2. The are seeking self celebrity and or personal gain. Look around I can safely say that most fail into one of the two without fail, and sadly most are in the second selection.

I agree with you entirely, Jachin and I based my theory on a number of people that I have spoken to who have had the same dream as I had and that is the sun coming down on the earth. Plus this has happened before. One well-documented incident happened in 1917 at a holy place called Fatima in Portugal. The Virgin Mary appeared to some children and this occurred for a number of days and on one of the days, the children asked Our Lady to make a miracle happen and she said that she'd make the sun come down and she did. It came so low that some people were burned.

Reminds me of the Y2K scare, people buying batteries and bottled water and even arming themselves in anticipation of people hoarding and vigilante groups stalking people for food and valuables.
Now that we are fully recovered from that fiasco, we have another one to face, 2012.
I'd suggest those fearing 2012 not look to the Mayan calendar, but look at the Illuminati calendar which is far more accurate than the Mayan one. Whats in store by the Illuminati calendar is probably more scary than the unlikely sun falling out of the sky.

IMO we may see some type of pole shift. Who really knows for sure. The only thing I do know is we are being ushered into the Age of Aquarius. If you check out the video series on YT called Aquarius- The Age of Evil you will see what I mean. As far as the Mayan predictions I agree with this article. ...scholars doubt the ancient Maya extrapolated great meaning from anticipating the alignment — if they were even aware of what the configuration would be.
Astronomers generally agree that "it would be impossible the Maya themselves would have known that," says Susan Milbrath, a Maya archaeoastronomer and a curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History. What's more, she says, "we have no record or knowledge that they would think the world would come to an end at that point."
University of Florida anthropologist Susan Gillespie says the 2012 phenomenon comes "from media and from other people making use of the Maya past to fulfill agendas that are really their own."
